Here are different ways to determine the version of Windows in use:

1. From "System Properties":

  1. Right-click on the My Computer icon;
  2. Click (i.e. Left-click) on Properties;
  3. Under System (in the General tab), you will see the Windows version running on your computer.

2. From the Command Prompt:

  1. From Start | Run, enter "cmd" and click OK to open the Command Prompt window;
  2. Enter "ver" and press the [Enter] key;
  3. Type "exit" to close the Command Prompt window.
