To disable auto-update in Adobe Reader:
This is applicable to newer versions (e.g. 9.x, 8.x, 7.x). For the older versions (e.g. 6.x), please see our next tip of this series.
- Start Adobe Reader
- From the menu, choose "Help" and then select "Check for Updates...":

- Click on "Preferences":

- Uncheck "Automatically check for Adobe updates:":
Note: If there are other Adobe products installed, you may also modify their update preferences from "Choose the applications to updae:".

- Click OK to complete the change.
